Loch Sport is a thriving coastal town located approximately 3 hours from Melbourne. Originally subdivided in the 1950’s for the changing demographic of holiday makers, the town now boasts both holiday goers and permanent residents. The town is approximately 6 kilometres in length and roughly six streets at its widest, making everything within walking distance.
Loch Sport by car is approximately 3 hours from Melbourne. Towns close by include Seacombe (10 minutes), Golden Beach & Paradise Beach (20 minutes), Seaspray & the Honeysuckles (40 minutes). Sale is approximately 40 minutes from Loch Sport and has all the essentials that Loch Sport may not have including the Gippsland Base Hospital.
The Gippsland Lakes offers plenty of exploring! Paynesville is approximately 20 minutes by boat, Metung 30 minutes & 40 minutes by boat to Lakes Entrance. You can even get to Sale on water as well There is also three public boat ramps scattered throughout town and one deep private ramp located at the Marina.
The Ninety Mile Beach is set back from Loch Sport by a sealed causeway that is approximately 1.8kms in length. It is perfect for surf fishing, swimming or even spending time combing the dunes.
Lake Victoria is perfect for swimming, boating and fishing. The lake is child friendly (with supervision) as well with a sandy shore, gradual water depth & no boating zones scattered throughout.
The Loch Sport Caravan Park is located on the foreshore of Lake Victoria at the start of town and offers both cabin and camping facilities. A popular holiday destination means there is also plenty of Holiday Rentals available throughout the town and on CShell Real Estate’s website.
The town is also fully equipped when it comes to services with a local CFA, SES, Ambulance & Police Station stationed within the town. There is also a pharmacy and Community Health Centre with a full-time nurse present.
There are plenty of Community Groups to get involved in throughout the town including, The LS Community House, The LS Boat Club, The LS Bowls Club, The LS Tennis Club, The LS Golf Club and much more!
Keeping the kids entertained is easy!! Between Lake Victoria & the Surf Beach their days will be full but for those who enjoy the dry land there is also a Lions Park Playground and a skate park offered along the Lake Street foreshore. The Loch Sport Primary School is situated within the town as well and a school bus service runs from the town for secondary students to access the mixture of private and public schools located in Sale.
Shops are scattered throughout the town including a General Store, Supermarket, Pharmacy, Café, Fish & Chip Shop, Garden Supplies, Lake View Bar & Bistro, Bakery, BP Service Station, Post Office & RSL.
Transport to and from Sale is made even easier with a day out in town available on the Costal Bus Service at a small cost. This service runs Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
The National Park & Coastal Parks are a great days outing with the parks surrounding either side of Loch Sport, you will find something new every time! The National Park is ideal for bush walking, bird watching or even a days outing with a BBQ along the way.
